Profile

Sheena joined Chambers after completing pupillage with Mr Bernard Man SC, Ms Maggie Wong SC, Mr Jin Pao SC and Ms Queenie Lau. She has a broad civil practice with experience in a wide range of areas. Sheena has conducted trials as a sole advocate (in both English and Chinese) and accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work.

  • Tao Soh Ngun (also known as Lo To Li Kwan) v. HSBC International Trustee Limited [2019] HKCFI 1268 (led by Mr Paul Girolami QC and Mr Eugene Fung SC, with Mr Wilson Leung and Ms Janet Ho) – 33-day trial, represented the defendant in dismissing breach of trust claims concerning the Lo Family Trust

  • Acted in numerous cases seeking urgent Mareva and proprietary injunctions, Chabra injunctions, section 21M interim relief in aid of foreign proceedings, banker’s books orders

  • Cheung Kong Property (Business Development) Limited v. Gold Brilliant Investment Limited & Pan Sutong [2021] HKCFI 603 (led by Mr Charles Manzoni SC and with Ms Sara Tong) – represented the plaintiff in obtaining interim injunctive relief relating to a deed of first refusal for a major property development in Hong Kong

  • Times Square Limited v. Lee Kwun Kit trading as “JL Music” & Ors.
    • [2019] HKCFI 1641 & [2018] 5 HKLRD 248 (led by Mr Jin Pao SC) – represented the plaintiff in successfully obtaining interlocutory injunctions against persons unlawfully occupying the Times Square open piazza by busking or any other forms of street performance
    • [2020] HKCFI 438 – obtained default judgment for permanent injunctions

  • Lee Carol v. Tong Hung Wai Tommy & Ors., HCMP 1851/2018 (led by Mr Abraham Chan SC) – successfully obtained ex parte interlocutory injunctions with respect to the access, care and supervision of an elderly patient

  • Securities and Futures Commission v. Isidor Subotic & Ors., HCA 1277/2019 (led by Mr Bernard Man SC) – represented the SFC in obtaining ex parte worldwide and local Mareva-type injunctions under section 213 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance against 16 defendants

  • Securities and Futures Commission v. Isidor Subotic & Ors., HCA 1277/2019, (Re Ching Lee Holdings Ltd, led by Mr Bernard Man SC) – representing the SFC in section 213 proceedings against false trading and market misconduct; [2021] 3 HKLRD 777 – leave for service out of jurisdiction

  • Securities and Futures Commission v. Kwok Wing & Ors. [2019] HKCFI 2322 (Re Tack Fat Group International Limited; led by Mr Bernard Man SC) – represented the SFC in obtaining disqualification order against former director of a listed company

  • Securities and Futures Commission v. Lam Wo Ping & Ors., HCMP 2328/2019 (Re Fuguiniao Co., Ltd, led by Mr Victor Dawes SC) – section 214 proceedings against former management of listed company

  • Tse Shiu Hoi v. Sun Bo [2021] HKCFI 2351 (led by Mr Jonathan Chang SC) – on setting aside default judgment in a contractual dispute claim

  • Global Gaming Philippines LLC v. Deutsche Bank AG (Hong Kong) & Enrique K Razon Jr [2019] HKCFI 405 (led by Mr Victor Joffe QC) – represented the plaintiff in third-party discovery application in respect of breach of contract claim

  • K & L Gates v. Aggarwal & Ors. [2019] HKCFI 702 (with Ms Eva Sit) – represented the 9th and 11th defendants in a 3-day specific discovery application in respect of knowing receipt and negligence claims; [2019] HKCA 350 – successfully resisted the plaintiff’s applications for leave to appeal to the Court of Appeal and stay of execution of specific discovery order

  • Advised a syndicate of lenders on a cross-border dispute for substantial debt recovery, winding-up and enforcement proceedings (led by Mr Bernard Man SC)
