    Thomas joined Chambers after completing pupillage with Mr Bernard Man SC, Ms Theresa Chow, Mr Peter Chiu and Mr Danny Tang. He also served as marshal to the Hon. Madam Justice Mimmie Chan and the Hon. Madam Justice Queeny Au-Yeung.

    Thomas is developing a broad civil practice and accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers work. During limited practice, he appeared in the High Court, including as a led junior in a 6-day trial, and in the Family Court. He had gained experience in various areas including general commercial disputes, insolvency matters, companies and shareholder disputes, family law, ancillary relief, land and trusts disputes, probate, employment disputes and defamation law.

    Thomas was awarded the Bar Scholarship.

    Thomas graduated with First Class Honours from University College London and the University of Hong Kong on the UCL-HKU Dual Degree Programme. He was ranked first in his class at the University of Hong Kong. He also obtained his PCLL with Distinction and won the subject prize for civil litigation. He later obtained his Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford on a full-ride scholarship and graduated with Distinctions in all subjects. He had received a number of prizes and scholarship awards during his studies.

    Thomas was an avid mooter at university. He represented UCL and HKU in various international mooting competitions, including the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. He is currently the coach for the HKU Jessup team.
